The 10th Annual Deep South Founders Conference gathered in Laurel MS on January 26-28, 2017. This regional conference continues to grow and get better every year. Nearly 300 attended the pre-conference event, on Thursday evening, to hear James White lecture on “What Every Christian Needs to Know About Islam.”
Friday morning we began with “The Panorama of Justification” by Pastor Earl Blackburn from Romans 3:21-33. That evening Dr. Joe Nesom preached from Hebrews 3-4 on “Resting in Christ”. Dr. Charley Holmes focused our attention on Psalm 32 and “The Perpetual Benefits of Justification,” Saturday morning.
In each session we also heard from James White on the Doctrine of Justification. He began Thursday morning with an overview of the subject. Thursday evening he contrasted the Roman Catholic and protestant view of Justification and Saturday morning he concluded with exegetical considerations of several pertinent texts.
We can’t thank Bethlehem Baptist Church enough for their generous hosting of the conference, including refreshments at every break, exhibitor space, child care, and a Friday noon meal on the church grounds
The conference planning board , consisting of pastors/elders and deacons from Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama, want to thank all who attended and participated in this conference to make it a wonderful success.
